Letter addressed to: Mrs Neffel Leach - Illinois State - White County Caldwell County KY August 15th 1829 Friends and old acquentances. I make this present opportunity of writing a few lines to you. The first thing that strikes my mind is the death of my father, he departed this life on the 19th of Sept last after an illness of two weeks. ?edsioned by the flux. Alexander D??’s wife died last May after suffering if possible a thousand deaths. I cannot describe her situation only that it was at the birth of her child, not birth either for it was not born, she had two physicians with her, the child was disjointed but we could not save her life, perhaps for the want of a more skillful woman in the beginning. I heard Mrs Robeson say she was very anxious to hear whether her son William is there or not. He ran away some time since and she suspects he is there, if he is he need not be afraid to come home for his indevders are destroyed. Sister Hannah has moved down to mothers and lives in the house you moved from. I have nothing more in particular but to give my compliments to all the family. Nancy sends her best respects to you all. I want you to write as soon as possible. Jane Davidson Mrs Margaret Leach Neffel Leach

I once purchased a used car that did not have a front seat in it. I later found out why. Anyway, I only needed it to drive around the neighborhood to visit family and friends so I put a lawn chair behind the drivers seat and got many a great laugh from all who saw me drive that ole car! I ended up with many fond memories. Eventually, I was able to find out why there was no front seat in that ole car.
The previous owner dropped fire from his cigar between the seats. The seat caught on fire and the gentleman had a heart attach from the fright and the car was sold really cheap. I got rid of the car which ended up junked out. Looking back, I’m glad I never replaced the front seat.
