How I became a DAR Member!

At the moment I am so humbled, I am not sure what to say….

I had discovered I had 14 Patriots in my family. I knew joining DAR, Daughters of The American Revolution would be a good thing! I had already worked for many many years and countless hours, to many to mention too validate my family tree!

I had tested over 9 family members with Autosomal DNA and the yDNA as well as tracing all lines in my Ancestry.

I had already had a family tree well documents including all Patriot Pension Record, etc. I knew I was ready and it was time!

I knew a 2nd cousin was already a DAR member and she had filed on my 4th Great Grandfather, Benjamin Wager! So, I was one of the fortunate ones. All I had to do was prove my first three generations as she and I share the same Great Grandparents.  My entire process took about six weeks to collect all birth, marriage and death certificates on my first three generations. My Registrar from the Red River Valley Chapter in Kentucky filed. Less than seven weeks later, my application went from “Pending Review” to “Approved” all in one day! The was on October 21, 2015

What a journey and I will be writing more about how I took that journey in later post’s!

Check back often as I continue to write in this thread!
